Naples

Controlled Chaos

Rome may have taught us to cross the street Italian-style but nothing prepared us for crossing the street in Naples. Naples is Italy amplified.

After a couple of hours in the Capodimonte Museum, we checked into our hotel, regrouped a bit and hit the streets with our guide. We had a good, long walk that included one of Naples' art-filled subway stations (more Kentridge!) and a stroll through the cloisters of Santa Chiara (it has to be the most tranquil spot in the whole city).

In the morning, we walked to the Sansevero Chapel Museum and to the National Archaeological Museum. The afternoon was our own to find pizza and to see the only known Banksy left in Italy. We ended our last night with an outdoor piano concert at Piazza Plebiscito and one last Limoncello spritz with tour friends.
